The Supergirl That Almost Was

A website glitch outs Brian Wood's Supergirl run and other discarded "New 52" creative teams.
Today was a big day for DC, as the publisher answered plenty of burning questions about "The New 52" and the impending relaunch. Part of that involved the debut of a website called The New 52 Landing Page, which features an interactive guide to all 52 books.

This launch had an unintended side effect however. An early glitch caused several books to display incorrect creative teams. More accurately, fans had a quick glimpse of which creators had formerly been attached to certain series before being replaced by others.

Comics Alliance has screen captures of the books in question. Most significantly, the glitch confirmed that Brian Wood was once slated to write the new volume of Supergirl with artist Mahmud Asrar. The series will now be written by former Heroes scribes Michael Green and Mike Johnson.

Other books of interest were Voodoo, which briefly displayed Michael Alan Nelson (28 Days Later) as writer instead of Ron Marz, and Simon Spurrier (Silver Surfer: In Thy Name) instead of Paul Jenkins for DC Universe Presents. Finally, C.O. Austen (better known as Chuck Austen to Uncanny X-Men and Action Comics readers) was shown in the Blackhawks listing instead of Mike Costa.
